The Bathurst City Council has voted to allow the closure of the iconic Mount Panaroma circuit for the fifth and final allotted time in 2011.
The decision brings a potential TeamVodafone driver swap one step closer as the likelihood of a Formula One car screaming across the top 'The Mountain' grows.
One potential challenge is how a fully specced Formula One car will get through one of Bathurst's most famous corners... the dipper.
The sharp drop off has V8 Supercars bottoming out, the thought of a ground hugging F1 car making through the corner is as tantalising as it is frightening.

The stunt is similar to one performed last year, when Jamie Whincup and Button swapped cars at Albert Park, though understandably this one has generated more interest, largely due to the world-famous Bathurst circuit.
