Meninga this week declared himself ready to return to the weekly madness of NRL coaching, something he hasn't done since 2001 with Canberra for whom he played 166 games between 1986-1994.
The former Canberra, Queensland and Australian great plans to review his Queensland Origin coaching options at the end of this year's interstate series after setting a record of five straight series' wins last year which included the Maroons first 3-0 cleansweep since 1995.
"You never say no to anything but it's a fair way away at the moment," Meninga said.
"I've put myself out there in the NRL market place and I'll see what offers come my way.
"So far the silence is deafening."

Meninga is friends with Brisbane bid chairman Craig Davidson and the other directors who were members of the Thoroughbreds which helped mentor young players from the Broncos and the Maroons.
"They're all very passionate about their rugby league," said Meninga.
"They believe in their cause and they're optimistic about their chances.
"They're fighting behind the scenes trying to put the best possible bid together and good luck to them."
NRL boss David Gallop said a team would only be added to the competition if it proved to be an asset to the existing 16 clubs.
Rugby league's soon-to-formed commission will examine bids from Ipswich, Central Queensland, Brisbane, the NSW Central Coast and Perth in the coming months with Gallop tipping a decision on any expansion for 2013 being made by the middle of the year.
"Obviously the impact on the existing clubs and making sure they're better off financially is paramount to the whole question," said Gallop, who was at Suncorp Stadium with Meninga on Thursday to help launch some rugby league-backed flood relief initiatives.
Gallop ruled out culling teams after the furore which engulfed the game when South Sydney was dropped from the competition in 2000 only to win its way back through the courts.
"I think we've been down the path of trying to forcefully rationalise the competition and it's not an easy thing to go through," said Gallop.
"Certainly we don't have any plans to do that."
